They Came from Somewhere Else … a family play.

A dark night – a cabbage field in Kent – a bright pulsating light in the dark sky – a screech – an explosive thud – then nothing! “We are being invaded by aliens,” stated an army major.

The only thing you can do is … Up and at ‘em, Rocket Girl. Go and save the earth!

They Came From Somewhere Else! with Rocket Girl and Grandad

The night sky – a twinkling curtain of suns – trillions and trillions of
suns — each with its own solar system of planets and moons – it is
hard to believe that there is no other life out there.

A dark night – a cabbage field in Kent – a bright pulsating light in
the dark sky – a screech – an explosive thud – then nothing!

“There are swarms of them” shrieked the headlines.
“They’re taking over,” yelled the radio.
“They’ve got to be stopped,” pronounced a political spokesperson.
“We are being over-run,” said the local mayor.
“We are being invaded by aliens,” stated an army major.

Everyone, even those not present, swore that they saw them land,
heard their hideous language, smelt their obnoxious breath, were
disgusted by their primitive manners, as they ran from the alien
craft and melted into the countryside.

So began the colonisation of the Garden of England!

Can Rocket Girl and Grandad save the people of Kent and Britain and … the world!

A new family play inspired by the Science-Fiction B Movies of the
1950s. Designed to be performed in venues from Village Halls to
Large Theatres. Created by Mischievous Theatre Company CIC.

Available from March 2025.
